Occupational Therapy (OT)
Autism care that helps your child flourish
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a client-centered health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of OT is to enable people to participate in activities of everyday life. In pediatrics, we address a variety of cognitive, physical, social, and motor skills.
The term “occupation” refers to the everyday activities that people do as individuals, within families, and within communities to occupy time and bring meaning/purpose to life. Occupations include things people need, want, or are expected to do.
The goal of our OTs is to help your child gain independence while strengthening skills required to participate in a meaningful and purposeful life.

OT supports a child’s ability to participate in daily occupations, or daily activities. We want your child to live their life to the fullest! Our goals are your goals – we can address anything you or your child want to improve or achieve. It is our job to support your child in their journey to function as independently & successfully as possible. We want to help them build the life skills necessary for leading a purposeful life.
A child’s life is made up of many occupations – play, learning, and self-care to name a few. When a child experiences challenges or performance changes in any of these areas, occupational therapists can help by evaluating the client to determine the best ways to overcome barriers they face, change the environment, or adapt a task to support the client’s performance. OT services can help your child participate in occupations, maximize their health, remain productive, and establish functional routines.
