Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant impairments in areas such as social skills, communication and can cause behavioral challenges. According to the Centers for Disease Control the most recent estimates show that 1 in 44 children have ASD. If you believe your child may have ASD, talk to your child’s doctor and share your concerns. Ask for a referral to a specialist who can do a more in-depth assessment of your child.
